Article SpinningThis is a featured page

Article Spinning or content spinning, is using automation to help you rewrite an article so that it does not appear to be the same article when it is distributed to several sites. There are different companies offering this service, some combine it with the ability to submit a different copy of the article to each directory and others offer this as a stand alone software or service.

The idea behind article spinning is that search engines will frown upon the same content showing up on several sites. While no one knows exactly how a major search engine work, many have formed theories, some based on garbage and some based on experience. One way of looking at this is think of a major news story that is written and distributed on the AP news wire. Several sites pick it up and run the same story. Most search engines will rank these, one appears at the top.

Some believe article spinning will help, others feel that since it was created by a machine, then a machine (search engine) will be able to see that it is the same thing as elsewhere and still treat it as a duplicate. One thing is key though, make sure that you are using variations that all make sense.

How Does It Work?

Most software/services allow you to enter in the choices that you want it to pick from when it builds the article. You would enter in the word or phrase that you want it to pick from. Usually a common form of doing this is with {} and either a , or a | as a separator. For example {word1 | word2} or {this is my phrase | this is my second phrase}

The software will then build X number of copies of the article and pick one option for each time that you put in more than one choice. Some services will also distribute those spun articles to one or several sites.
